Dear Parents,                              

Welcome back everyone from the long weekend. We would like to send out a great big thank you to all of the parents who made our Valentine’s class parties so much fun as well as our conference times. We greatly enjoyed meeting with everyone at our parent-teacher conferences last week and are looking forward to a fantastic spring semester.

Summer Camp ~  It may still be the middle of winter, but we are already looking forward to all of the summer fun that we will be having this year! We are actively planning an exciting, action-packed program that we know you and your child are going to love. Be on the lookout for more information to come in mid to late March!

Pancake Date Breakfast ~ Save the date – Saturday, March 5^th….  This is a special day that you and your kiddo won’t want to miss. We hope to see the two of you there on March 5^th. Please see enclosed flyer for details!!

Field Trip ~ We are planning a fantastic field trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science on Wednesday, February 24^th and Thursday, February 25^th. We always appreciate parent volunteers/drivers as you greatly help us to make this day a success. Permission slips went home in last week’s folder, but please see someone at the front desk if you have any questions.

Calendar Alerts – We will be sending home more information regarding the dates as they get closer, but you can put them on your planning calendar now. This time of year seems to fly by so quickly!

March 21^st – March 24^th – Spring Break (camp days will be offered)

Friday, March 25^th – Good Friday (school closed)

We hope you enjoyed a wonderful weekend.  It is hard to believe it, but this is the last week of January… and that means February is only a week away!

Enrollment – We are currently enrolling students for the fall 2016-17 school year.  We sent home enrollment packets in your folder last week.   All of our current families are receiving priority enrollment before we open up enrollment to the community. So that you may take advantage of this time, it is important that you return your enrollment paperwork to us by February 12^th before Open Enrollment begins on February 16^th.

Referrals– We would like to give a great big THANK-YOU to our wonderful families that have been spreading the word about Word of Life Academy. If you know of any families that are interested in enrolling, please let us know. Spots will fill up fast and this is the perfect time to tour the school.

Conference Day ~ We want to remind you that Spring conference days are Thursday, February 11^th and Friday, February 12^th.  Sign-up sheets for each class will be at the front desk next week and online at sign-up genius, so you may sign up for a time to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss his/her progress, growth, and accomplishments!

Conference Camp Day ~ The school will be closed on Thursday, February 11^th and Friday, February 12^th due to parent-teacher conferences. If you are interested in a camp day on those days, we will be offering a fun filled Dr. Seuss celebration for any kiddos that would love to come play!  Sign up sheets will be coming home in today’s folder.

Calendar Alert ~ Valentine’s Day Parties are coming up as well! Due to conferences being scheduled on Thursday and Friday, your children will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with their classes on either Tuesday, February 9^th or Wednesday, February 10^th depending on which day your child attends school.  Please refer to your kiddo’s teacher letter for instructions on what to bring for their classroom celebration.  Teachers will have sign-up sheets located at the front desk as early as next week.

I know it is hard to believe considering it is the middle of January, but today is the very first day of registration for the 2015-2016 school year! We have had so many of our wonderful families that have helped us spread the word about Word of Life Academy, so pay close attention to our referral program. We are happy to provide you with extra packets so that you can share them with all of your friends, neighbors, and family!

Label Cold Weather Clothing ~ When the weather gets so chilly, our lost and found tends to build with coats, hats, and gloves.  Please make sure to label all of your children ’s clothing items so that we can get the lost items back to their owners. 

Extra Clothing at School ~If you have not already done so, please be sure to change out your child’s extra clothes to a warm set.  If you are not sure what extra clothes your child already has here, please check with his/her teachers.  They will be happy to check for you.

Priority Enrollment

I know it’s only the middle of January, but it is time to start thinking about the next school year! Because we are so thankful to all of our supportive families, we will be offering you Priority Enrollment starting next Tuesday, January 19^th. The packets will come home in your weekly folder.  These packets will include class and registration information for you to review. If you have any questions after you review the materials, come talk to us. We are happy to help!

Newsletter Sept. 15th

September 15^th, 2015

Dear Parents,

We are now six weeks into school and with the cooler weather in the mornings,  it is beginning to feel like fall! Everyone is getting settled into their classrooms and we have greatly enjoyed getting to know all of our wonderful families.

Label personal Items ~ As we head into fall, please remember to label all items your child brings, including jackets and water bottles.  We do have many items in our Lost and Found from summer that do not have names on them. If you are missing something, stop by and check our lost and found!

Conference Days ~ All email invites have now been sent out for conference sign ups through Sign up Genius. Thank you to all of the families that have already signed up for conferences online. If you did not receive an email or are having trouble signing up online, please see someone at the front desk and we will be happy to help.

Camp Days ~  I f you would like your child to attend camp on the September 25^th and/or 26^th conference days, please fill out the camp day form that was sent home in last week’s folder and return it to the front desk.

Parent Option classes ~ classes are off to a great start but there is still room for your child if you are interested! These are fantastic classes and the coaches and teachers are wonderful. Please ask someone at the front desk if you have any questions or would like to sign up!

Info and Reminders

Dear Parents,

Can you believe that September starts next week?  Everybody is settling into the new routine and enjoying their classes! We have some great kiddos and parents this year-Thank you!  There is a lot of new information for you for the month of September, so please read on….

Book Orders ~ This is just a reminder that book order forms went home in your packets last week and all orders are due no later than this Wednesday.

September Hot Lunch Menu ~ September 1^st is next Tuesday, so we are enclosing our hot lunch menu for September.  If your child stays during the lunch hour and you are interested in ordering hot lunch, please return the enclosed menu as soon as possible.

Change of Clothing ~  If you have not brought in a change of clothes for your child, please do so (in a labeled Ziploc bag) as soon as possible. We will keep these in your child’s classroom. 

** Please label all personal items such as lunch boxes, coats, sweaters and backpacks. If something becomes misplaced, we want to make sure that it gets back to the right person. If your child is missing anything, feel free to come check the lost and found bin at the front desk.

Asha ~ We are enclosing some information for you about our precious school sponsored child, Asha. Our teachers will be talking about her with your children over the next few days. We hope that you will keep her picture on your refrigerator and remember to keep her in your prayers.

Box Tops for Education ~ We collect Box Tops here at Word of Life Academy… for each box top collected, our school will receive $.10 to put toward school projects and supplies!  Please see the enclosed flyer for more information.
